It is hard to believe that it has been almost a year since these

two special pups came into our lives.

Delta and his buddy Waggy came into our home in December.

They are part of the rescue organization known as C.A.R.E.D. - Canadian

Animal Rescue Enriching and Empowering Delta Dogs. They are the sweet

little fellows you see on the left side of this page.

The

first thing they did after they were in our care was get a bath.

They were dirty and muddy and in need of all the cuddling they could

get.

Both are very happy and eager to be up to mischief. They have a

great sense of humor and their play is pure joy.

They were

brought to C.A.R.E.D. by their owners, who lived on a beautiful farm

in a large city. They were rescued from a basement. After a few days,

their owners stopped looking for them.

They had

been abused and neglected. The poor little guys were found by their

parents when they were just two weeks old. They had been living in

a basement with two other dogs. They were extremely lonely and they

needed help and love.

The owners

were told that they could not keep the pups and when they came to us,

we assured them they were welcome. Our place is warm and welcoming

and they got a clean place to live.

The

first few weeks were quite hectic. Both pups had to learn how to live

in a home environment.

They learned

the concept of litter box trning. They learned how to get on a

table with their little legs. They learned to eat dry food and wet

food. They learned how to go on walks, how to be left alone to do

their own thing, to go to dog shows and everything else. They took

it all in stride.

We taught

them how to socialize with other dogs, at first shyly. Now, they

are very friendly with each other and get along with all the dogs.

Their first owner trned them on being house dogs, which was not

such a bad idea considering that they were in a basement with two

other dogs.

The pups

have taken all of this in stride and they are good dogs. They can

be trusted and they will do anything you ask of them, as long as you

are nice to them.

As owners,

we try to give them what we can. We offer to take them to dog shows

so they can socialize with other dogs. We offer to take them to

dog shows. We take them to the park for walks.

As

time goes on, we get to know them and it is like we are their new

best friends. We are the ones that they want to sit on, to lay

down with. We are the ones that they sleep with. We can tell them

what to do and they will do it.

We are their

best friends. We are the ones that they run to when we are not

there. We are their constant.

When we

are no longer around, we hope that they will have a good

relationship with their new owners.

They have

been with their new owners for only six months now, but I believe

that they are ready to go to their new homes. I could have

switched them to another home, but I wanted to give them as

much love and attention as I could, to give them the best chance

to go to their new homes as happy as I can make them.

They

are happy, calm, and playful and I am happy to see that. They

always have the right attitude. They always look you in the eye.

Their

faces are bright and happy. I guess that they have been happy

all their life. I guess that they enjoy all that I do for them.

It is like I can read their minds. They tell me what they

want. I guess they get to know me.

I hope that I can give them the

love and attention that they need. I hope that they can be

happy in their new homes. I hope that they will be there for

them and will be the best best friends they ever had.

They are a

sweet dog, but I am sure that they will do very well in their

new homes. I have no worries for them. They will make them feel

welcome. They will be their companion for the rest of their

lives.

When I think about that, I know that

I have to be the best one I can be. I have to do my best for

these pups and I have to give them everything I can.

I am a little

disappointed, but I guess that my experience will be good for

the new owners. They will have good new homes and can help

others.

I hope that I can provide them with

happiness for the rest of their lives. This is a very short

note and I would like to tell you that I would like for all of

you to be very happy with the pups.

I have been

happy with them for a long time and I am sure that they are

happy with me. I love them all of the time and I wish for them

to be happy, always happy.

And I love them and I am sure they love me. I am proud to

be the Mom of these pups. I hope that they will be the best

pups that they can be and that I will help them along their

way.

I hope that you all have been doing well and enjoying life

and I wish you a wonderful Christmas season.

With

love,

Shan

"Puppies are a lot of work, but they are a lot of love, too.

You can't rush a dog. Give it a year or two, just like you

would a human."

Thank you very much for watching and

we hope to hear from you soon.

Love you,

Shan

"It takes a long time to bring up a

dog, but it takes only a second to ruin a good dog. Don't let

the dog you love become ruined."

Thank you very much for watching and

we hope to hear from you soon.

Love you,

Shan

"Won't you come a little closer to me.

Give me your loving heart."
