Simplicef dosage for dogs

Ive used all the probiotic stuff off the store. My dogs never eat much but there

are times they eat half of what their normal is. They are both 1 year old, 11

lbs

I take Simplicef at 4ml and 2ml on a daily basis with a little dogfood. When I

first started giving the 4ml my dog only ate it when I put it in food and

otherwise just slept it off. Now he wouldnt even eat his normal amount unless

given Simplicef and he drinks it all day and even before meals. Also he never

threw up after his first round of probiotics and after 2 days of taking them.

He is also really energetic and playful and he didnt lose any of that once I

started giving the 4ml dosage.

What do you all think of Simplicef and are they giving the right dosage to

your dogs?

I think it is not the same as giving to humans, my dog gets the 4 ml as well,

he

drinks it and eats it when I put it in dog food.

I was going to do more research, but I guess it has to do with it taking them

a little longer to digest and absorb, which is why it is recommended to give

it for a few months, my dogs only have been on the probiotics for a few days

now.

Thank you for the update, that makes me feel a little better because I was

worried about him getting a little sick and it is good to know that he will

take it without any issues.

I am wondering if you could put the 4ml in the dogfood with the meal and

then

feed it to him daily, I think that is what the other poster was saying.

I have noticed that this brand of Probiotic contains Lactobacillus acidophilus,

and Bifidobacterium bifidum, and both are part of the beneficial bacterial

group and they are not in my dog's supplement? Is it possible to add these to

my dog's dogfood?

I agree with what he said. I have had dogs on it before and I noticed that

they

stored well and were good to go!

Goodness...I have my 11 year old chow mix on the Pro-Biotic for two months now

(1/2 a jar). We have noticed that she hasn't been acting any differently but

she

feels so much better. I would be worried about it taking away nutrients, but I

am glad that she feels better.

Thanks for the update, I will call to ask about the other things I have been

asking about. I will report back on what I was told. I do think they are

making great strides in making the foods that do make our dogs healthier and

well

being.

I've only been using dog foods for a few months and I feel that I have learned

a lot. I was just reading that some foods are made for puppies and dogs, and

that

is why they are bigger. I've been feeding a puppy food, but I'm going to switch

to adult food next month, and get him a few extra treats and have him try the

probiotic for a month or so. My dog really is not on any meds. I just wanted

to try the probiotic to see if it helped and it seems to have. I know this

because his hair is a lot shinier, and he feels better. If it was a placebo,

I'm sure it wouldn't be that obvious. I think the probiotic is making him feel

better because of the added fiber and the nutrients.

I hope your dog feels better soon.

Hi Linda,

Well, I'm glad that your Choy mix has responded to the probiotic. Some dogs

can handle the higher fiber just fine (though I'm not sure if your puppy's

digestion will be able to tolerate the fiber much), but some dogs have other

health problems. I hope that your dog feels better soon!

Hope you find the information helpful,Marvin Johnson

Hi Marvin,

Yeah, I have a Choy too. I know that he gets some type of problem when he is

older. I just want to keep him happy. Thanks for your response.

Hi Linda,

Here is a link on my website for probiotic pills. I've listed five different

pills that are all the same except for the probiotic. Here's the link.

I'm not sure if that's any good or not. I'm just not sure that
